Doesn’t it figure? Just a few hours after I make a blog post regarding former Tigers on the job hunt, and I never mention that Tampa Rays as a possible landing spot, and according to a report on MLBTraderRumors.com, the Rays are close to reaching an agreement with the 37-year old outfielder. Damon would reprise the role he filled last season for the Tigers in Tampa this year, as the Rays primary DH and part-time outfielder.
Of course the fact that Scott Boras is Damon’s agent means the deal could be done later today or just before spring training,with Boras you just never know.
